Is there anything for kids to do?
Tons! Children’s events, sponsored by the Washington Financial Bank, occur in the Lil' Rebels Area by The Bradford House gardens and the Meeting House. They run on Saturday until 6 p.m.
Children can experience writing with a quill pen and try 18th-century games such as rolling hoops, cup & ball, stilts and quoits.
And they will learn about the role of youngsters on the frontier, trying their hands at the types of domestic chores required of children, such as beating rugs and washing clothes in a tub with a washboard. Who says learning can't be fun???

What is the Whiskey & Spirits Walk?
Participants are given a wristband, a walking map, and a sampling glass. The wristband identifies you to the vendors. Alcohol vendors are set up throughout the footprint within businesses.
You walk from place to place, sampling different libations. There are 15 vendors. If you like something you sample, you can purchase a bottle. Our runners collect all the bottles purchased, and at the end of the walk, you go back to the walk registration and collect your bottles. This way, you don't have to walk around with your bottles.
Tickets are $50 per person.

What is the Rebels & Patriots Dinner?
New in 2025, the Bradford House is partnering with The Farm at Emerald Valley and the Observer Reporter for a long table dinner on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 6-9 pm. The setting for this unique event is the birthplace of what would become the Whiskey Rebellion…The Farm at Emerald Valley.
The historic farm in Scenery Hill was at the root of the rebellion. We invite you to see where it all began -
- Visit Crooks Cemetery, the resting place of the farm’s original proprietor Colonel Thomas Crooks who was among the men that would help define the uprising.
- Read letters procured from the Library of Congress from Alexander Hamilton to then President George Washington that chronicle discussions among these now defined rebels as they planned the response to the newly established whiskey tax.
- Stand on the hilltop site that served as the militia encampment during the rebellion.
We are working with our culinary partner 408 Heirloom to create a culinary experience that celebrates The Farm’s rich history. Together Alisa and Executive Chef Kevin Herman with special guest collaborator, the Bradford House’s own Kate Cunning, will bring to life a wildly creative menu spotlighting our region’s very best farms and producers. We welcome everyone to join as a community to share this special meal, served family style. Learn more and purchase tickets.
