Internships

Intern at reception desk

The Bradford House Historical Association offers internships year-round.

The Bradford House Historical Association’s Internship Program aims to provide practical training experience to students interested in pursuing a career in history. Interns will be assigned to the Executive Director.

Past interns have attended Trinity High School, West Virginia University’s graduate and Ph.D. programs, Washington & Jefferson College, Robert Morris University, Kent State University, Connecticut College, and the University of Pittsburgh.

Bradford House Historical Association’s interns will have the opportunity to learn about the inner workings of the small house museum and visitor center. Interns will gain exposure to the business through hands-on learning, projects and fundraising.

This is an immersive orientation and training program.

Possible tasks include: shadowing museum tours, marketing, collections management, event/fundraising planning, donor software management, attending industry webinars, grant proofreading, and visitation tracking. Continuous on-the-job training and work alongside experienced professionals are offered. The intern is encouraged to offer suggestions and comments throughout the internship.
